Jeanne Poindexter

Jeanne was an important part of the organization from its earliest days. She attended meetings in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, usually with a small troop of undergraduate students in tow. I met her at my first NEMPET in 1993 and was immediately impressed with her dedication to both the science and the community of people there. The thing that made the biggest impression, however, was how hard she worked to make sure that the meeting was a meaningful experience for her students. Encouraging them, asking questions, and guiding them to make their own connections.
